Swimmer of the year
Congratulations to Stuart Dyer, who has been awarded the Isle of Wight Marlins Swim Club’s Most Improved Swimmer of 2015. The trophy was presented by Bob Cooper, Chairman of the club and fellow swimmers.
The presentation took place during the early morning session at The Heights, Sandown. The Club swim every Tuesday and Thursday mornings between 7.30 and 8.30am.
Stuart said,
“I really enjoy coming to these early sessions as it freshens you up for the day ahead as well as helps to keep you fit, and it is good to be with like-minded friends in the pool. Being a member of the Wight Triathlon as well, gives the swimming more relevance.”
Club chairman, Bob Cooper, said,
“You don’t have to be involved with competitive swimming to be a member of The Marlins. Although we are proud of the efforts of a most competitive swimmers, including Jenny Ball, and Lyndsey Shenton, the Club is there for anyone who wants to use swimming to assist in keeping fit and to start the day with a swim. Our President, 88 year old Joan Kidd, who swims twice a week, is a prime example of the benefits of swimming.”
