Congratulations to all swimmers who took part in this year’s Isle of Wight Marlins Open Meet. Particular congratulations to Jane Bourne, Katy Sexton and Peter Weedon for their record breaking swims:
Anne Bourne (60-64) – 800m free, new British and European Record of 11.08.05
Katy Sexton (30-34) – New British records for: 50m fly 28.01 and 50m free 26.45
Peter Weedon (65-69) – New Jersey records for: 100m free 1.16.32, 50m fly 40.11 and 50m breast 44.13
Congratulations also to the top scoring swimmers: Stan Vela (top male), Jackie Patel (top female), David Blackman (top senior male) and Bethany Jerram (top senior female). Stan was also awarded the Charles Ambler Trophy for overall top swimmer of the meet.
Ruislip and Northwood fought off the Island clubs to become top club of the meet, 2nd place went to West Wight and 3rd place to Isle of Wight Marlins. Many congratulations.
