British Gas swim, Windermere

Disappointment at the British Gas Swim at Windermere, part of the Great Swim series.

Jane Dodd and Jenny Ball travelled in appalling weather, to Lake Windermere, hoping once again to swim the One Mile Great North Swim, which was cancelled in 2010 due to Green algae in the water. They had raised over £400 for Cerebral Palsy Sport to gain charity places but were once again victims of very inclement weather, although this improved on the Sunday and some were lucky enough to swim and that day’s activities televised.
