Most improved swimmer award 2009
Karen Lewis joined the club in March 2009 as an average recreational swimmer with aspirations to enter her first Triathlon at Freshwater in September. She tentatively asked if we could help her learn front crawl, though she was planning to settle for Breaststroke for the 600m swim.
With ‘quite a bit of help from all her new friends’, she quickly developed a good stroke and speed, and amazed herself by bettering her swimming entry time by several minutes. The award is well deserved as she still continues to work on her strokes and to improve her swimming.
She says it is the first cup she has ever won! We are all delighted for her.
